I don’t want to spoil the party season however it is important for us to all be aware of any lifestyle choices which may increase cancer risk. 

The US Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy, warned that alcohol consumption increases the risk of seven cancers, including breast, colon, and liver cancer, causing 100,000 US cancer cases and 20,000 deaths annually. Alcohol is the third leading preventable cancer cause after tobacco and obesity, regardless of the type consumed. Current US dietary guidelines recommend limiting alcohol intake to two drinks or fewer per day for men and one drink or less per day for women. Murthy urged reassessing these limits to help consumers understand cancer risks and advocated for updated warning labels to raise awareness, similar to tobacco regulations.
